Hi,
I haven't been on for a long time, but I thought I should come and check the prayer boards....
How heavy my heart is this morning for all of these sad prayer requests.
I am asking prayer for my dad. We found out just after Christmas that he is in Stage 3B of Lung Cancer. He starts his Chemo today. Please keep him and my mom in your prayers if you think of it. Thanks.
I plan on checking at least the prayer boards...and possibly I will quickly check a few other boards as well. I have missed you all dearly and I think of you often, but can't spend too much time on-line!

Thanks all. The chemo went "well". He even managed to eat a boiled dinner and shortcake during it and asked my mom what was for supper when they got home. He had a good night's sleep as well. Up to now the only side effects he seems to have are fatigue and hiccups (??).

Laura, it's amazing how much better the chemo has gotten over the years. We've noticed with my dad, from his first treatments in the fall of '98, then through a couple of recurrences, that it has gotten more tolerable each time. In fact, this last time (in the fall), his chemo was on Monday morning, he'd work from home that afternoon and then go in to the office Tuesday to Friday! Personally, we thought that was overkill , but at least he wasn't knocked flat.

I'm so glad to hear your dad's first treatment went well. Praise God for advances in medical science! We'll continue to pray for him...
