Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone used the unit study for grades 7 - 12 based on Anne of Green Gables? I found it in the Rainbow Resources catalog and I am very curious about it. Sorry but my catalog is across the house and I can't remember what the study is titled.

Wendi, I have not used the unit study; but as a huge fan of Anne of Green Gables, a unit study would be worth a try.

I was reluctant to turn one of ds's favorite books, _The Hobbit_, into a literature study, but it is going well. Found it at garlicpress.com; they do not have a similar guide to Anne of Green Gables.

Here are some websites regarding Green Gables:

http://www.annesociety.org/anne/

This website has the text of several of the Anne books and has made preparing copywork, of which there are many wonderful selections, a breeze.

Following rabbit trails about Anne would be delightful

Wendi,
I haven't used it yet, but am planning to when our daughter is in high school.

My friend used this with her daughters, and I spoke to her daughter recently about this unit study, *Where the Brook and River Meet* by Margie Gray.

She said, she used this study in 7th grade, and is RE-USING it in 11th grade, because it was a bit above her in 7th, but she and her sister were doing it together then. I asked her if she likes it this time again, and she said, MUCH better!

I asked her if I should use it in 7th, and AND again later, or just wait until high school, and she said it'd be better to just wait until high school to use it, as she's enjoying, and understanding the literatrue part much better this time around. Speaking with her was extremely helpful, and aided me in some of my decisions for curriculum with Sarah in a couple of years. It pays to ask questions!!!

We're planning to use The Prairie Primer next year with Sarah who will be in 6th grade next year, using the Little House on the Prairie books. This unit study is also by Margie Gray Cadron Creek unit studies We're looking very forward to it! I really love the way Margie Gray writes unit studies, she's very talented. You just have to be disciplined enough to be able to pick and choose, and realize you can't do it all! Though, with *Where the Brook and River Meet*, being as it's for high school, you may do it all. I haven't seen that one yet.

She's also written one using the Chronicles of Narnia called, *Further Up and Further In*.

I emailed Margie Gray with a question about The Prairie Primer, because I had used it years ago with our boys when Sarah was in 1st grade. She didn't remember doing it then, so we're doing it while she's in 6th. Margie was very quick to get back to me with an answer to my question. If you have any questions, you can find her email on her website I posted, and she's great about getting back to you with answers.

Hope this helps!

Blessings and Peace,
Tracy

Thank you for your insight - my daughter has shown interest in this program so I think I will order it for review. She will be in 10th grade next year. She loves the Anne of GG books so I think it will be a great jumping off point.
I am also planning to use the prarie primer for my younger children when the time is appropriate. I found it too late with my oldest but love the book.
