Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am wondering if any of you have Scout Bags? They are made of oilcloth, I think. I am thinking of purchasing some of the file holders to store and carry around our homeschool stuff.

Any reviews on the bags? Are they worth the money? Are they durable enough to store read alouds and teacher guides?

Or do I just need to finish reading ADD Ways to Organize Your Life and then just do it!!! I know I can't just throw money at problem areas to fix them, but maybe the right products will help??????? Am I hopeless??

Ok, money at the right problems will help.

Do you need a way to keep stuff organized while you tote it places? do you have somewhere to store those types of bags at home? Would you remember what's in the bags if you can't see them?

Would something like a clear bin with a locking lid work better because you could look through the side when hunting up an item?

Now I think they can work great.. my kids' CCD stuff is organized like that.. it's just a cloth bag.. but it holds their books and a folder for each to add papers too.. and IT STAYS IN THE CAR. If they need to work on it, they can go get it.. but then it goes back to the car. Otherwise I simply do not remember it Sunday mornings.

But what you want to do especially if you're looking at the ADD ways to organize.. is figure out other strategies that work for you, and find one that will suit you and fix a problem area.

Funny you should mention this. Last night I spent considerable time online looking for oilcloth material. I even found a tutorial for making your own oilcloth.

I'm considering making tablecloths....

Sorry, I don't have any experience with oilcloth bags though.

Does anyone actually sell oilcloth or do you have to make it if you want it? It seems old-timey to me (not a bad quality, just haven't seen any around since my grandma's kitchen table). It seems like it would be a good, sturdy material for tote bags, but I've never heard of Scout bags before. Thanks for the link, Mary Chris!

Peace,
Nancy
