Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Gals , is there such a thing anymore as the old style razor ? I'd love to find one for dh for his birthday . the kind that you turn at the bottom of the handle and it opens the top and you place a blade in . Do they still exist ? I'm so sick of these p[lastic everything throw out etc. we don't do anything electric in the bathroom and trying to get away from many electronic items. His b-day is not til end of March so I have time to search and save money . Thanks , Roxie

My husband just started using a safety razor- It was an early Christmas present. This is a great article with an overview of the setup. The initial cost was about $70, but all he will need now are new blades and shave cream. He is really enjoying it- there is definitely a learning curve, but he is no longer breaking out every time he shaves. He says that he watched videos on youtube to get the technique down.

He is is using a Merkur razor with Derby blades. He has an Omega Badger Hair Brush and Avocado Shaving Cream. He uses a coffee mug for lathering up the shaving cream.

Hope that helps!

Ummm...Maria, did you peek in my bathroom? LOL

Hubby and I both use the same Merkur razor and Derby blades that Maria mentioned. LOVE them. We also use a Badger hair brush, but I prefer glycerine shave soap. I know it was probably silly since I could have used a regular cup, but I also got a rubber shaving mug because I take it in the shower with me.

I'm trying to locate a place here in Canada if anyone know of a store here . now I'm tempted to find a ladies version for my b-day . I'm gonna look up Merkur in Canada . those brushes are so cool too . Thanks a bunch .
