Do you have any brands that you recommend?

I totally forgot that I purged most our lights last year. I have our outdoor Christmas tree lights - one strand of those is half out.

And I have two boxes of indoor lights - 50 lights each. One strand will not light at all.   

Dh is out with dd this evening so guess what got added to his list? The children are ready to riot -decorating the tree will be delayed yet another day.

I just find it so frustrating - I put them away so carefully and yet the ones I've bought in more recent years just don't seem to last.

I had about 6 boxes of Treasure Island lights years and years ago but those lasted me well over 10 years!!

I would recommend LED lights. They dont burn out and are very cheap to use. Home Depot (and perhaps other stores) are offering a credit for every strand of standard lights you trade in for a LED set.
