We use it.

I read 3 or 4 stories from it a week. There are many seasonal type stories in here that are just charming, most with an emphasis on character or virtue building. There are sometimes sweet little poems after a story. Darling! At first, I thought the stories were out of order in terms of following the seasons, but I've found that they really do move with the seasons. For example, right now, we're on p. 183, Christmas Chimes. We've been reading some delightful Christmas/winter seasonal stories...and will continue again after Christmas. If you start reading in August/Sept.-ish you could start at the beginning and follow the stories in the book through the year.

If I could make a recommendation based on this...if you're just getting this I'd start reading in the middle of the book. Just spend a few minutes flipping through and start wherever the book reflects the season you currently find yourself in. We just love this book of gentle and lovely stories. They're a perfect fit for my preschooler/Kindergartener though all the children listen.

(**Note - there was one story you might want to adjust a bit...I can't remember where it was now...I wish I had made a note in the margin...but it was easy to correct wording on the fly. It had to do with a Jewish person, I believe. Remember, this book was written originally in 1890 and societal acceptance of certain language and descriptors have changed some.)
