Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've been meaning to post here my rave review of my new favorite mothering tool.

After spending way too much money on coffee out during frequent road trips we decided to invest in good travel mugs. We settled on Contigo Double-Walled Vaccum Insulated Tumblers and they are awesome for travel.

BUT-they are also LEAK PROOF! I didn't realize how great this would be until the first really cold day when I wished I could safely bring my hot coffee to the couch for picture book read alouds with all three kids. These cups can be tipped upside down, lost in the couch cushions, or vigorously shaken and they do not leak. You have to push a button to take a sip which is easy enough for a three year old to figure out but not a ten-month old (sorry my test panel wasn't more varied).

So, if you need something for your Christmas list--here you go. I have heard that Costco often carries these mugs in two packs for only $20 (half price). If you shop for them make sure you get "vacuum insulated". Apparently, there are some cheaper versions insulated with styrofoam and those are pretty unimpressive when it comes to keeping beverages hot.

Can you wash in the dishwasher?
Do they fit in van cup holders?

How long have you had yours? I've gotten frustrated in the past by seals breaking/leaking in the past.

Thanks!

These are wonderful.. I was looking for a good one too.. and my MIL highly recommended these.. the 2 pack at Costco are in different colors so you can tell whose cup is which.

MIL was telling me that she found hers one day upside down in her bag with important papers and not a drop on the papers!!

And yes they would fit in the cup holders and I'm fairly sure they're dishwasher safe because my MIL uses her dishwasher whenever possible.. but I don't have one myself so I didn't really look.

We've had them about two months. They definitely fit in car cupholders. We don't have a dishwasher. The lid is sort of complicated so I would be worried about flying food particles gunking it up in the dishwasher. I pretty much just rinse mine with really hot water and shake the water out with the button pressed and I've been happy with how clean they get.

Thanks, Susan...I'm bumping this to remind myself to look for these at Costco. I never thought to use something like this to keep my tea warm during the day at home .

Love,
