Exactly a month from today, on Jan 8th, is our almost-2yr old, Steven Joseph's appointment to check on the status of his heart defect with various scans and determine if and when he will need open heart surgery.
In an effort to pray for him, relieve my own stress, pray for other heart patients, and pray for all of the spiritual needs of our hearts, I've created a little prayer campaign on my blog.
Put some kind of heart on or near a door in your home. When you open it, pray for all our hearts to be open to Christ this Christmas, and as you close it pray for all those who need spiritual or physical closure for their hearts. Please click on my blog linked below, and spread the word! Leave a comment on the blog if you'll join me in prayer. Thanks!

May Our Lady, the Immaculate Conception, pray for me and for all mothers as they care for their children!

Blair,
I am also the mom of a child with a heart defect.....who has had two open-heart surgeries and awaits the next one within a year or two.....
DId you know there is a patron for heart patients?
His name is Saint John of God and his feast day is in March.
And, of course I will join you on the campaign........and even share it if you will, as we head to make our next sugical date soon, too.
God bless and St. John of God prayer for us!!

This is such a lovely idea! I love the visual of this!
Thank you for sharing it with us! I will certainly be praying for your little Steven Joseph. I instantly thought of asking my little brother, St. Steven Joseph, to pray powerfully for your little Steven Joseph!

Praying for Steven Joseph and for you! I love your idea. Our 11 y.o. son, adopted from Hong Kong when he was 3 1/2, has 22q11 deletion (DiGeorge Syndrome) and one of the symptoms he has is a VSD. At his last echo, the cardiologist asked if we were praying it would close. He told us to stop praying that! He said that if it suddenly closed at this juncture, because of where it is, we'd have a very symptomatic kid in a hurry. So far, no surgeries, but it can't be ruled out.
