This morning my mother has foot surgery. It's not technically a big deal. However one must know my mother! To her everything is a step from death, a pain in the stomach must mean cancer, and this, going "under" for foot surgery, definitely makes her think she won't wake up again.
So if you ladies wouldn't mind praying that all does indeed go well (she is having four of her toes fused straight, yikes!) and that she goes into it with peace and recovers with peace, I'd greatly appreciate it! She never asks for prayers for herself because she doesn't want to "trouble" anyone.

Thanks ladies! She is doing well. She, as expected, had a hard time waking up from the anesthesia. This is her m.o. She did well otherwise, she has high blood pressure, that was never an issue. But because it took her so long to come around, my dad said they didn't get to leave till 7pm, rather than the 3pm they had all hoped for. I didn't talk to her. She was/is still really groggy. She apparently (while I was in the bathroom) called my home when she got home and left a message for me. My kids don't ever answer phone (I know, not normal!) Anyways, when we listened to it, my dc couldn't help but giggle by her lack of coherent sentences!
My dad didn't know what the night will bring. He's hoping she won't be wide awake at midnight, because he's beat from sitting there all day. He is diabetic and had his own adventure staying fed properly while waiting!
I may go by to see her tomorrow. They actually live a mile from my home, as the crow flies (the roads I have to travel to get there take me 10 minutes though!). I'll see how she feels. She apparently was able to use a walker (they have one on standby all the time now with her various ailments, coming in handy sometimes!) to get from the car to the house. And they are thanking God they live in a one story home and not the townhouse they moved from several years ago. (My dad said if they were still there...he'd have left her in the car to sleep )
