Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Trying to make vanilla yogurt homemade and I am not sure of the sugar and vanilla quanities. DD likes Stoneyfield Farms vanilla so I would like that to be my benchmark of "sweetness" and "vanilla-ness".

I am starting with 6 cups of milk.
Using some quick searches I have come up with 1-1 1/2 T of vanilla and 6-9 T of sugar.

Thanks

My kiddos only eat it sweet. I use 3/4 C sugar for 8 C milk. I know, it's a lot. I use a splash of vanilla - I don't measure it. The real stuff is $$, so I don't use much. I do use less sugar if I'm adding fruit, and I've considered substituting other sweeteners, but can't decide which... Splenda kinda scares me.

(3/4 C = 12 Tablespoons)

Honey is divine with a nice this yogurt - I make it plain, strain it, then serve it with a swirl of honey on top - YUM!

I have used 1/2 c. sugar to 8 cups milk and 2T vanilla with success for my kids. They tend to add toppings that have some sweetness as well.
