Just seeing now...they also have battery operated votives in pink and purple...great for little ones, methinks.

Mary -- I really like the look of that tea-light wreath. We are going with the pillar candles this year, but I will bookmark this and look at it for next year! Thanks for posting.

We need to use pillar candles with our advent wreath, too, and I love our traditional advent wreath so much, but seeing this one made me think... hmmmm would it be so wrong to have TWO advent wreaths in the house?

That is the one we picked up this weekend from our local Catholic bookstore. I like the fact that it can be left simple or decorated. I also love the fact that I don't have to hunt for colored candles.

Do you see how those violet/rose glass covers go straight up....as opposed to tapering OUT a bit, like regular votive holders do????
Do you think they'd get black and stained easily??? Thus requiring a bit more scrubbing than I'd like, and eventual permanent staining?
Thoughts???

Hmmmm, good point...I didn't think about that. Maybe we need to wait for Charlotte to give us a definitive answer this Advent 
The only downside I could see with it is that the candle covers are breakable and probably not replaceable.
But it is just so darn pretty!

Ours came with electric tealights and I haven't tested them with real ones yet. I usually keep wicks trimmed pretty short, but I will let you know if there is any smoke on the chimneys. They are glass and potentially breakable. We usually keep our advent wreath on the dining table or hanging in a corner of the living room and haven't had any problems but I could see that they might pose a problem for people who want to put it on a coffee table or something like that.

I love that wreath with the electric tea lights! But my hubby says he prefers the traditional pillar candles.  So I'm taking notes just in case he changes his mind. Thanks so much for the great ideas ladies!

OK, ladies, I have to be honest. I am very disappointed in our new Advent wreath for exactly the reason Suzanne mentioned. I let the tea lights burn for about an hour. I looked at the chimneys and couldn't see any soot, but then I wiped them with a paper towel and it was there. After only one time for one hour. I can't even imagine what they will look like after a whole season. I have been re-inspired by the other thread to go back to our hanging Advent wreath so I think I will let the kids use this one with the electric tea lights it came with. Just wanted to let you gals know.

So, for some reason, two separate ideas merged in my head this morning.
I recalled Charlotte's review of this wreath as well as a project I saw when trying to decide what to do with the 5 lb chunk of beeswax I bought, and while it is too late for this year, I thought that this Good thing from Martha Stewart would be simply gorgeous modified to make an Advent wreath like the one reviewed, only maybe prettier
Beeswax Everlasting Candles
I know in some other threads it had been said that beeswax pilar candles were pricey but that wrapping a white candle with beeswax wasn't the best solution either. This seems to give the beauty of the beeswax pilar and using colored beeswax sheets without having the messy melting at different rates aspect that was mentioned in merely wrapping the pilar.
