Maybe I'm biased because of my love of Yellowstone, but this is a fabulous book - an interesting and educational slice of history about the early exploration of the first National Park in the US. It tells the story of the determined and talented artist who joined the Hayden expedition of the Yellowstone area in 1871 and whose drawings captured the beauty of the area and helped convince the US government to protect these lands and designate them as a NP. Illustrated with watercolor drawings that evoke the style and tone of Thomas Moran himself.   Includes author's note page at end of book with additional information.
