Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I wanted to share with the group, anonymously, what has helped me tremendously with libido.

Our marriage has had some very rough times because I *want* to be in the mood but I just couldn't make it happen, but God has changed things so much and now I'm able to respond properly to my husband.

I will list the things that I have tried and then the one thing I know helped the most. Then people can post their own ideas anonymously if they like.

Here's what I've tried:

Daily exercise, even it it's only 15 minutes, at least five days a week

Learning to do Kegels the right way (it's two sets of muscles, not just the set that stops urine)

Eating healthy

Very little white sugar in diet ("Sugar kills libido" is what I read somewhere)

High quality Fish Oils for Omega 3

Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc

Vitamin C

Optivite Vitamins

Coconut oil as a lubricant (this you freeze in 1/2 - 1 tsp. amounts on clear plastic wrap and it will be inserted prior to the special marital time). To me, this feels the most like natural cervical fluid and this has made the biggest difference.

I appreciate this very useful information. As we get older, our bodies go through many changes. It is a blessing to be able to continue to have a close and loving relationship with one's spouse, but sometimes it's a challenge, too, especially for us older women. Part of our Christian witness to this world is having a good and strong marriage, so this is an important topic. I look forward to everyone's helpful suggestions.
