Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone have any experience with Warhammer?

My 14 year old son is very interested in playing.

Thanks in advance,

My 15 year old was very into playing the LOTR version of this until they closed the games workshop that was near our home. He played at the store when they had tournaments and he also went to the national convention a few times and entered figures he had painted. He still likes it- but its harder to find kids his age that are still into it. I will say its very expensive to buy the kits, paints, glue etc. He would go to promotional events and win kits sometimes.

My three teens have a huge collection of LOTR, they play and/or paint when they have the time, especially in the winter months. We don't do tournaments or anything, but they have really enjoyed the game. Their painting skills are just incredible now! When my St. Patrick statue broke, I brought it to my ds 18 and he made it look better then when I bought it.

We do very little video games (mostly when they visit friends) so this has been a good hobby for them to share.

Ebay is the best place to buy Gamesworkshop stuff, the kids have found so many great deals. My 14 yo ds found a beginners set for a penny on ebay.

My son (now 20) played and still plays Warhammer with a group of friends (now much more occasionally). He has spent hours re-constructing certain players and very carefully painting his figures. Great for his concentration and attention to detail. Also, he listened to a great number of good books on tape while working, so it wasn't entirely wasted time. A lot of what he has came from e-bay, and because so much time is involved in the painting/prepping of the armies, he didn't really spend lots of money. One $10 purchase would provide weeks of entertainment.

Peace,
Nancy
