Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Good Morning Tim and Janette!

A year ago today, my husband was gone for a three week trip. I spent hours and hours on the computer, emailing and messaging back and forth with a man in Texas. We didn't tell my husband . But we did tell the Texan's wife . And after the Super Bowl, when my husband returned, the three of us had this amazing message board to show him--up and running and full of life and joy! He was duly impressed with our surprise and pleased with how I'd spent my time . Not bad for my first (and only) clandestine Internet relationship!

And thanks from me too. I was one of the die-hards who didn't think I would like a bulletin board and wanted to stick to the email format. So guess where I now spend my time? That's right ... here! And not on the email list .

Good job

I've been thinking about this anniversary! One year ago I just plain didn't want to learn anything new, no matter how fabulous it was. I was pregnant, my dh was in Indonesia for a month, on and on. Yet, through the generosity and patience of this special gang, I was included and swept away! Thank you, thank you. I love it here .

Love,

Absolutely, Angie. Why is it that threads that seemed so discouraging and overwhelming to me in an email format, now are actually enriching my life when they're on a message board??   I think one part is the organization -- like having a neatly organized pantry or bookroom rather than a jumble of mystery boxes in the garage -- and one part is those wonderful hyperlinks

This is such an attractive message board, too. Most of them aren't, and that turns me off of reading them.   The layout here is so tidy and pleasant to look at.

I am a convert too, Kathryn. I would have never guessed a year ago that I would love this format so much better than the email list. I guess you can teach an old dog . . .

Happy Anniversary!
Thanks so much Elizabeth!
I happen to love message board formats and this one is the best!
And Willa is right, this is the most attractively laid out one!

Oh this is exactly how I feel! I lurked on the email loop for so long but could never keep up. This message board is such a blessing! Thank you all.

Wow...has it been a year already?!?! Just thankful that E took a chance on this idea, that she chose us to help make it a reality, and that it has turned out so well.

So far, this board has been a blessing to me in many different ways that I won't go into here, but I think the biggest reward was discovering that one of our homeschooling friends that had moved away came upon the board independently and realized we were behind it!

Big thanks to Mike for sharing his wonderful wife with us. Still hoping we get to see you for a soccer game this spring.

I want to say thank you, too! I was also skeptical, but I have enjoyed the format so much, especially these days when we are "roughing it" with dial-up and I find it so hard to follow the threads on my other lists.

You all are an inspiration and a gift. Please keep tugging us reluctant ones along with you as you continue to venture out and open new doors!
