The ambulance just took my 20 month old and husband away. SHe had a seizure and stopped breathing. The side of her face wasn't moving. I'm home with teh baby and kids and don't know what's goin on. Please pray for Rachel.

Thank you so much for the prayers. My husband just called. He said she was fighting the guys in the ambulance to get the oxygen mask on and who tried to start an IV. Fighting is a good thing. He said the side of her face that wasn't moving is moving now.

The ER doc said they think it was a febrile seizure--even though she doesn't have a fever. She said the antibiotic injection she got yesterday for an ear infection that had gotten so bad it was making her throw up all day could be masking the fever. My husband said she looks like herself again. Thank God. He's waiting for the attending to come in and see her--but I think they just watch her now for a while to make sure she doesn't have another one.

It was the scariest thing I've ever seen in my life to see her go totally blue and stop breathing.

It looks like the scary part is over, and since febrile seizures are pretty common, it seems like all will be well now--we just have to wait and see.

UPDATE--
She's home now. EKG and CT scans were normal. The best guess is a febrile seizure--even though she had no fever and her temp in the ambulance was 96.5. We follow up with the ped tomorrow and then have to schedule an appt with a neurologist.
