Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My daughter is having a small, sleepover birthday party in a few weeks and really wants to do a movie at bedtime. I am having a hard time coming up with something that she hasn't seen, everyone would have fun watching, and would meet parental approval. I am not very familiar with most older movies and I know there are some good ones out there (not that it has to be an older one, but we tend do do a family movie night once a week in the winter and have seen a lot of the more recent family flicks.

To give you an idea of what she likes; favorites have included Eight Below, March of the Penguins, Homeward Bound, Annie, Sound of Music, Nim, Two Brothers, and the Apple Dumpling Gang.

Animal, outdoorsy, adventure sorts of movies and musicals are great. Actually, she likes it all, I just don't want to take a chance on anything objectionable for the other girls.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Iron Will? We all love that movie.
The Seeker: The Dark is Rising --my 11yo just watched this from Netflix. Said it was "pretty good" and nothing inappropriate.

A lot of great suggestions here!

You might also like the Dexter movies from Disney (with Kurt Russell):

Now You See Him Now You Don't

     The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes

The Strongest Man in the World

They've probably already seen it, but Mary Poppins.

My 8 and 11 yo dd's have been enjoying Shirley Temple movies lately.
