How would you pack 3 meals a day for your dh?
I need ideas/recipes that offer:
ease
variety
satisfaction
good health
I am not concerned about:
allergies
particular physical conditions
cost
storage at his office (he has a private office and access to a full kitchen)
I found this topic on packed lunches. I found this from Anne in another thread about taking care of our husbands. Something like these pasta salads could work.
Any ideas? Thanks!
Love,

The first part of the plan is breakfast on the road. This should be easy! I'd like at least 3 different options....
Granola bar and Gogurts
Cheese stick and crackers
Dry cereal and nuts
Muffin...
Trail mix?...any one have a recipe?
Plus a piece of fruit
Any other ideas?
Thanks for brainstorming with me .
Love,

oatmeal bars (I know my recipe is around here somewhere.. they're like a soft granola bar and you can vary them somewhat)
bagels and cream cheese

I cook extra dinner portions each night for my husband to take to work...it's the easiest way to prepare lunch for him.
Another thing you could think about is stocking his office fridge with some basic stuff...condiments, salad dressing...to augment the things you send in with him each day.
Dh loves homemade bread with his take-to-work meals.

Pancake sandwiches are a good on-the-road breakfast. Make a big batch of pancakes and freeze most of them and then you can just pull two out and make a sandwich with peanut butter, jam or cream cheese the night before.

Breakfast on the road:
Thick, healthy breakfast smoothie. Add in banana and protein powder to make a very filling meal.(be sure to include a fat enough straw!)
Breakfast burritos can be made ahead, heat and go.
Cheesy biscuits and sausage links.
French toast cut into strips with peanut butter/honey mixture for dipping (not as drippy as syrup).

We do these like pigs in a blanket.. smooth out the biscuit and lay the cooked sausage and a slice of cheese in it.. and then roll it in the biscuit and seal it up.. makes it really easy to handle on the go.

Thank you for your yummy breakfast on the road ideas! Next...
Bento Box Meal
I purchased the Bento Box at Amazon per stef's recommendation and now realize that I need to have 2 so that one is always available for preparation in the evening (sometimes my dh doesn't come home at night until well past when I'm asleep.) I think I can keep this pretty simple by planning on 4 parts to the meal:
1. Soup - home-made or store bought
2. Grain - rice, crackers, bread, muffin
3. Veggie - sticks (carrot, cucumber, pepper), cherry tomato
4. Protein - fish, chicken, beans, cheese
Can you help me to expand this list? Brainstorm nice meal combinations? Thanks!
Love,
