Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was hoping to fit some type of family catechism/bible study (we are doing Ancients/Bible History this year)into our religion curriculum this year but writing and math took too much of the budget...So any ideas for something that could be done as a family either cheaply or free...audio/video or text? I know Father McBride has an inexpensive family catechism but not sure what ages that would cover--we are 1-13 here. Thanks for any thoughts!

Have you already read this thread? It has some information and ideas about bible studies...you might also try a search on "catechism" or "religious education".

I would say that the best value for money Catechism series would be the St. Joseph Catechism Series.

I found that they worked well as a Catechism 'spine'.

A friend told me about it but I haven't really checked it out in detail.

More info here on this program

We use and we love it. Very inexpensive and chock-full of great stuff. My ds loves to watch Cardinal Arinze, who just exudes the love of Christ.

The familyland site lists all kinds of resources for the program familycatechism . What is necessary to use it? I thought you could just use the website videos and layout but now am wondering if you need the books too. Do you need to purchase the books for the website program to work? It appears to be active already.

Can someone compare the familycatechism with Catechism class? I am debating between the two.

Thanks
