Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My family and I went strawberry picking on Saturday and I was wondering what else I could do with them aside from:
Strawberry shortcake
strawberry rhubarb pie
strawberry bread
strawberry jam

We have ALOT of strawberries
Thanks,
Char

We freeze them on cookie sheets and put them in a ziplock for easy smoothie making. They don't last long!

I make a strawberry sauce with the ones that are getting soft.

I cut them up, cover with water in a suace pan, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and glop of molasses. I then boil it until it begins to thicken.

It keeps for a long time. I put it on waffles, mix yogurt, over over a fruit salad.

We have a surplus in our garden right now. We freeze most of them, but have been eating them fresh-picked at mealtimes, adding them to fruit salads, and enjoying them sliced on French Toast, with a sprinkling of powdered sugar. I'm waiting until we harvest the last before making jam. I like the smoothie idea!
