I couldn't find my post from last week, asking for prayers for my brother who has been in the ICU of the hospital with what they thought was swine flu (still may have been) but has turned into severe double pneumonia. He is still on a ventilator, and has been in and out of consciousness this past week. He was making progress last week, but today's chest x rays are worse, and he has a fever again. The doctors literally do not know why this is happening, and they have pretty much run out of new things to try. I'm scared - he is only 42 and has been in the hospital for three weeks already. His eight year old son has been staying with us for the past two weeks and will remain with us for the time being.

****Update***
My brother was moved to Columbia Presbyterian in NY last night. The move went very well. My sister in law said that the dr.'s there had him resting much more comfortably today. Also, his chest x ray was a little better! They are compiling all of his info and will inform her of their treatment plan tomorrow. We feel very blessed that he was able to get a bed in this ICU.
Thank you so much for your continued prayers. I just know it is helping!
***Update 7/6)****
My brother is still in the ICU at Columbia. He is stable and has had some slight improvement. They still don't really have answers, so haven't done much to change his treatment. He has developed a rash which they biopsied on Friday - we are hoping the results will yield something useful. They have also begun testing for some autoimmune issues (he doesn't have any history of these, but the docs feel that the problems may just be emerging now.)

Thank you all for the prayers. I just found out that they are moving him to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in NYC today at 2:00. We are praying that he will get better doctors and a little more attention over there.
Everyone's prayers must be doing something good, by the way, because this brother has estranged from the church for years (his wife still goes, though) and before they put him on the ventilator he asked for communion. Then, last night when he was awake for a while, he wanted rosary beads!

Oh Gosh...what can you say to all of that, but Jesus, We Trust in You!!!! Thanks be to God for a loving, awesome God....He is bigger than this pneumonia, and we will continue to pray for both physical and spiritual healing!! Please, please, keep us updated!!!
