Tonight ds11 is cooking dinner. He is making burgers, he is so cute..."Mom, this recipe puts all the stuff inside the burger instead of on top!"       I know he plans on adding bacon to the top of them, just not the ketchup and mustard. He is using a recipe from one of the Emeril cookbooks. We will also have some corn on the cob, waffle fries and a salad. I'm not sure what he plans to make for dessert, I think I'll suggest home made ice cream.

Mary Chris,

Do you have a recipe for homemade ice cream you could share? I know there are ice cream makers out there but we don't have one....so I'd like to figure out how to do it....I remember as a kid something with coffee cans and rock salt....

Maria,

I remember doing that too. Here is a link I found, Making ice cream with two coffee cans. I think somewhere out there is a recipe for using plastic baggies too.

We have an ice cream maker, actually we have two.

Macaroni and cheese with ham, and leftover corn and black bean salad. I'm trying a basic strawberry granita for post-baby-in-bed dessert.

Mac and cheese and whatever else we can scrounge up. We are down to almost no groceries. I'm going shopping tonight while the kids are at VBS.
