Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I somehow stumbled on thiswebsite and was wondering if anyone had any experience with any of these series?

I haven't heard of any of them - I have a bit of a weakness for covers with that era by-gone charm.

We have read some of the Beany Malone series and enjoyed them. It has been awhile,my oldest dd was the one who ran across them. I was able to get some through the library system.

God bless,

If I remember right the Beany Malone books have a good bit about dating in them.. I found them when I was hmmm 16 I think, the library had if not all of them a good number of them.. I don't remember how many I read but I know I felt satisfied with the number and with how much I read.. that was hard to do

I was totally hooked on the Sue Barton series in late elementary school. Absolutely wholesome, a touch of beautiful and appropriate romance, good characters with positive (but not saccharine) values.

Peace,
Nancy

Donna,

I just read the first two of the Beany Malone series. I really liked them. It is true that there is quite a bit of dating but very clean and wholesome. Romance is not the main focus of the book but a part in the life of the characters. The two books I read were a very satisfying read for me.

The Beany Malone ones are set in Denver - so I've wanted to read them, but not gotten to that. I'll have to get them for my daughter. I think she would enjoy them from what I have heard - and maybe being local they would have some familiar elements. Those nurse ones sound a lot like the Cherry Ames series which I heard about here on 4 Real - my daughter has really enjoyed those.

I'm with you Donna - I have a weakness for those nostalgic covers .
