Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dear Friends

Remember when we were all mighty prayer warriors and stormed heaven for Mary G's house to sell with success! I am coming here begging for prayers for my dear friend Gae; Cherished Hearts for Home. If you could would join us in praying a nine day novena starting on the 13th June Gae and family would be MOST grateful.

For three years Gae's husband had been working interstate and has only been able to fly home on some weekends. During this time Gae has had two new babies and truthfully it is SO difficult in many respects for all members of the family. If only they could sell the house and reunite this family of 13, living in a state of limbo is not helping.

On the 22nd June they have a prospective buyer visiting from interstate, please also pray that their house will suit this dear lady. Her's also is a story of courage, she is a grandmother who is now raising her daughter's children after her tragic death as well as some of her own still. Pray that this house built for a large family will suit also the needs of the seven children under the arms of her love.

There are various novenas, I thought I'd pray the following; but even if you could just say a quick prayer would be wonderful.

Opening Prayer

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Come to my aid, O God. O Lord, make haste to help me.

Almighty God, Father of mercies and giver of all good gifts, I come before you to honor you in your saints and ask their help in my many needs.

You promised those who ask, would receive, those who seek, would find, those who knock, would have doors opened to them.

Hear the prayers of your church, grant my requests, and pardon my sins. Amen.

St. Joseph, just and true, with a father's care you raised the child Jesus, and with a husband's love, you shared your life with Mary, his mother.

I entrust myself to your care and place in your hands this request of mine (say request)….

In quiet Nazareth, long ago, the Holy Spirit spoke to your heart and you followed God's will with wonderful faith.

In the quiet of my days, and in the hard choices I must make, help me follow the Spirit's guidance and believe when I cannot see.

Day 1 Oh God, guide of those who listen and helper of those who hear your voice, speak to me, as you did to St. Joseph, and help me accomplish the things you give me to do .

Day 2 O God, you love your people and bless the ordinary lives we quietly live. As you blessed St. Joseph, bless what I do, however hidden and simple it may be, and let all I do be done with love.

Day 3 O God, ever faithful, you remember us always and in time reveal your blessings. Help me trust in you, as St. Joseph faithfully trusted, and never let me lose faith in the wonderful gifts you promise me.

Day 4 God of families, bless the family that's mine. Keep us safe from harm, and never let evil come between us. Let peace remain in our hearts.

Day 5 O God, who loves children, be kind to our children today. Give them eyes of faith for seeing far, a loving heart for welcoming life, and a place always at your side.

Day 6 God of our heavenly home, bless our home on earth. Let the spirit of Mary and Joseph rest at our table, shape our words and actions, and bring blessing to our children.

Day 7 God, our Father, give your fatherly spirit to those who are fathers now. Like Joseph, give them hearts of devoted love for their wives and children and strength for forgiveness and patience.

Day 8 Give shelter, O God, to those who need it, and bring together families divided. Give us enough to eat, and decent work to earn our bread. Care for us, O God.

Day 9 Bless all families, O Lord especially those in need. Remembering the life of your Son, we pray for the poor, for those who lack a good home, for those in exile. Grant them a protector like Joseph, O God.

To conclude this novena, say one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be

I have been praying, too, and will continue to keep Gae in my prayers. Her blog is beautiful and she seems to have such a good attitude in the face of this difficulty... but, I can only imagine how hard it is!!!

I am touched by both of these families...how I pray that the Holy Spirit is bringing them both together so that they can mutually benefit from each other's circumstances!

Begging St. Joseph for his intercession!

I wanted to drop in and keep you prayer warriors an update; the viewing was meant to be today but the lady was unable to make it because... her youngest two have just been diagnosed with swine flu!! She is definitely still interested but obviously can't view at this stage. Praying for the grandmother.

Another update: The grandmother is now not certain that their town is where she should move to, she is looking at the next town over. Mind you houses in Tasmania are not built for large families, so accommodation elsewhere is not available. Tomorrow the real estate agent is having a conference call with the whole family (the prospective buyers that is.)

Please, please pray; pray for the other family as they make decisions. Pray that this house sells soon, pray for Gae's family and tonight especially pray for Gae who was too distressed to ring me and asked her husband to do so to update me and ask for your prayers.
