But I am seriously considering ripping out the pages of her 1st edition Mother Goose book from 1944 to frame some of her lovely pics.
Would you do it? Should I preserve the book? The spine is loose so it's not exactly in the best condition. I just can't seem to decide...
I can see several of her drawings framed in my stash of vintage frames but then again it is a first edition Tasha Tudor book.

EEEk! If it's a first edition, I probably wouldn't. Or...I might, if I could replace the book for a reasonable price for a more sturdily bound copy.
But, I'm not scandalized either. I've been known to buy dirt cheap used copies of a book (like Tasha Tudor) that I already own...(look away if you're sensitive and reading!)...and cut them up and laminate or frame the beautiful pictures. Thinking Beatrix Potter..Tasha Tudor...and some lovely coffee table books with sacred art of Our Lady. I do this a lot!

Oh, I would definitely go ahead and frame them so you can enjoy them all the time ... especially since you said the binding is less than perfect!

I have only done that if I had another copy. But that's just me.

I don't have another copy but I have several Mother Goose books, one illustrated by Eloise Wilkens who is one of my all time favorite children's artists. I have a nice collection of Tasha's books but as this one is in poor shape and it was free... I picked it up at a St. Vincent dePaul Thrift store free day!
Sorry to scandalize! Thanks for the support, now for the real challenge, actually pulling out a page. On purpose. I'll get my 18 ds to do it, he won't see the harm!

Ah, now the plot thickens! For Free! Then by all means! I'm not scandalized any more.
Use an Exacto knife to get clean edges.
I bought from an antique mall some framed prints by Masha. I have always loved her illustrations, started by buying some books from a neighbor's garage sale when I was in 8th grade. Neumann Press reprinted a few of her books. When I brought those frames home, I realized they were just cut out from the actual books, just like you propose.

I was just going to pop over and suggest the exact same thing!
I love her art and think it would be delicious to have it decorating every corner of my home...not sure how my husband would feel about that though! Well, ok, I am sure!
Have fun cutting them out and framing them, Maddie! I bet they'll be lovely!

Never heard of Masha, I'll have to look into her books, thanks! (just what I need, another illustrator to love )
We were thinking of using an Exacto knife too, I want a very precise cutting. My ds would do a good job as his hobby is painting miniatures.
Thanks again, ladies. This will be a fun project. I'm debating on matting them now or just placing them in the frame as is. I wonder what a beautiful piece of scrapbook paper would look like behind the pics?

Oh, my!
I didn't click on this earlier because I wasn't sure I wanted to be scandalized.
I just got home from taking a friend's Adoration hour where I took the last 15 minutes to enjoy "The New England Butt'ry Shelf Cookbook" illustrated by Tasha Tudor.
I love that book so much that I came straight here to see what was up.

Why don't you just make color photocopies instead?
