Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

A friend who has done tremendous favors for us is moving this week (just across town.) I've been making them dinner about every other week to say thanks, but I'd like to make something for tonight. The movers are currently at the house so I don't know the current state of the house/kitchen. Typically I make something that just needs to be popped in the oven so they can either make it that night, or save it for the next night if that's more convenient.

Should I make something fully cooked this time? Any suggestions?

Melissa,

I would bring something that is super easy for them to handle.

Paper plates and cups would be nice to bring along.

I have 3 ideas:

You could get a big french loaf and stuff it with deli meats, cheese, and such to make them a big sandwich they can cut pieces off of and snack from.

Pick up a rotisserie chicken, fresh bread and a bag(s) of Caesar salad mix.

Pizza. You could make it in rectangular baking dish(es) and box it in a gift shirt box(es). (Line the bottom with parchement paper or foil.) Easiest would be to pick up pizzas for them!

Those are my ideas because I would avoid giving them any containers you would like back or that they would need to store because they probably don't need anything else to keep track of during the shuffle of moving.

Blessings,

very good ideas! That sandwich one sounds really yummy!

How about stromboli (wrapped in foil), bagged salad and tomato, a microwavable pouch of spaghetti sauce, chocolate cake and paper plates?

One of the best meals someone ever brought us was a deli tray. She brought it over and said, everyone always brings dinner so here is lunch. I know that is not exactly what you are looking for but I think Kristina's first idea reminded me of it. She packed it with a bunch of meat, different bread and rolls, some pasta and potato salad, it was great! We snacked on it for days.
