Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello again. Would anyone be able to recommend a music theory piano book for an 8 year old? Our daughter had early music by ear 4-6 and can play by ear. She likes to compose. We haven't started her in piano lessons as she likes to create and isn't ready for the more intense practice. She does want to record her note names and types (ex. quarter notes) as well as count, repeats, etc. properly on the scale. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

I've heard good things about Michiko Yurko's No H in Snake. She also has another book (Music Mind Games).

Her website is here.

The games are quite involved IMO, though. If you're just looking for simple music theory without much preparation, this site might help.

This is a very nice, simple program for music theory that is hands on, and good for grades K-6.
