Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

that it's been hard on the knees? My plantar fascia-whatsie has got better, my back and hip is about 80% better but my knees are better but sore and seemingly sore in different places than before.

Also, where would you say you were changes-wise after doing it faithfully for four weeks?

Pam

Pam, what I have found is that it kills my knees if I am not super-careful to keep them pushed out. I have to think through every single move, which is part of the reason I haven't made it through four weeks faithfully. I definitely notice a positive change in my upper back pain when I do it even for a few days.

with knees it seems to me that it is ALWAYS about position.. there is nothing that will help your knees so much as being sure, very sure, that they're positioned properly. I also suggest a neoprene brace if part of the problem is that you need to build strength to hold the knees in the proper position.

I was just telling a friend yesterday that it would be better to reduce the amout of other moves (twists or things) than to let her knees get out of position.. regardless what the person on the dvd does.. after all, you want to be able to walk when you're old

Pam, I'm glad you posted this. I have also had some pain ONLY on the days that I do the workout. I also use the elliptical during the week and that gives me no problems. Now I started considering not doing T Tapp anymore. I always try to keep in position, but I wonder if the knees should not be pushed out as the video instructs.

From what I've seen Nina.. and my own not so great knees.. the pushed out should still be over the ankle.. the pushing out is most about the muscles supporting the knee pushing out than the knee actually turning out.. make sense?

The pushed out position is meant to align your knees with your ankles. The tendency is to spread your feet apart and let the knees turn inward. I do have bad knees and experience no pain when I very intentionally push out my knees with every movement.

Thanks for this everyone.

I have tried to be really careful with form. I read somewhere that it is a good idea to not just push your knees out but sort of flip them out, rotating the whole top of the legs a little. I've been trying both ways and wondering if this second way is just too hard on my knees. And is it correct? I can't find anything Teresa says about it. I can't even find that link, now. Ah, here it is, from this web address: http://www.geocities.com/dyfalck/tips1.html#klt

Sorry, my computer won't cut and paste the info for some reason. Essentially, it says turn out from the femur in the hip bone.

Any comments?

Thursday night, after a big day in the city, I was dreading making my knees more sore but decided I needed to go for it anyway. I was pleasantly surprised to feel better afterwards and not worse. They are still sore, though.
