My mom had atrial fibrallation last week which resulted in cardioversion (where they shock your heart back into proper rhythm). She's now on cumaden.
Got a call this morning that my 22 yr old nephew fell 15 ft out of a tree and landed on his face on the sidewalk (he'd been drinking heavily) at 3:30 am. He's in ICU with a severed jaw, crushed cheekbone, slight brain bleed and fracture in c3 and c4. They're keeping him sedated b/c he's combative whenever they try and pull him out of sedation. They want to keep him still b/c of the C3 and C4 fracture. They're going to do another brain scan tonight to check brain swelling.They don't think there will be paralysis, but won't know just yet.
When I called my mom to let her know about my nephew, she told me she'd been having trouble breathing all night. I took her back to ER this morning and found her blood levels had about 3x too much cumaden. They think the breathing problem is anxiety. She's temporarily off the cumaden. She'll go to her regular dr. tomorrow.
Please pray for my mom and her anxiety (as well as heart), for my sister and her husband and her son (Ben), and for my sisters and I that we can be able to help my mom through her fear and anxiety and support my other sister. Thank you all for your prayers!

Update: My mom is doing better. The dr. explained to her that what she has is very common and doesn't mean she has to shut down and quit living life.
My nephew did come out of the sedation yesterday and was talking. His short term memory is not good, though. I don't know if it's all the meds he's on or part of the head injury. He will have a 3 hr jaw surgery tomorrow. Thank you for your continued prayers!
