Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am really liking what I see on the Bravewriter website. I think she recommends beginning the program at 8yo which sounds great. I was wondering, though, if The Writer's Jungle would be helpful for those of us with younger children? If not, I will delay the purchase.

I haven't used The Writer's Jungle so hope others will step in - but we do get the Bravewriter emails and follow along, in our own way, the suggestions in the emails and the blog. Very inspiring and yet practical.

Jennifer,

I think that depends on your dc. 8 is a general recommendation but some children are ready to write sooner. Is your dd showing an interest in writing? Most of my girls have started writing young-- around 6 even though they couldn't spell or read that well. Bravewriter is a whole philosophy and her book explains it so well. If you dd is already doing some writing on her own, like making stories, writing notes, or wants you to do that for her (some children want mom to do the writing and that is just fine--they are still "writing"), then you might want to go ahead and get it now. If not, maybe just sign up for the emails Julie offers, visit her blog and message board, and read the whole website for now.
