Anyone want to do a monthly "challenge" like some of us did for part of last year?
I would like to lose 5 pounds this month, but since I have been losing weight pretty steadily with what I have been doing, my more important goals are:
-at least 1/2 cup of leafy greens every day
-some kind of substantial exercise each day. I'm not going to set a numerical goal, it's just going to be an I know it when I see it sort of thing.
-at least 1/2 cup or equivalent of orange or yellow vegetables at least three times a week
As for excess weight, today I weighed in at 38.9 pounds lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight. (Baby is 8 months, 10 days old, and I gained 20+ pounds when pregnant.) Still quite a few above "ideal" (for health) -- I'd say 25-35.

I am in!!!! My weight has not budged in almost a year. I am dealing with lots of hormonal stuff and bloating and need to get healthy!
I will do T-Tapp daily.
I will drink 4 glasses of water a day in addition to the tea I usually drink.
I will take my vitamins daily.
Let's go!

I"m so glad to revive this! Thanks for bringing it back, Theresa!
The Easter Bunny brought me an pedometer, so I'm keeping record of a weekly average number of steps, moving gradually toward 10,000.
Also, working on the arm weights very gradually.
So: 1. keep on walking and using the arm weights;
2. lay off the sweets, especially ice cream;
3. vitamins - taking iron supplements makes a huge difference in how
much energy I have to do the other things.
Peace,
Nancy

I'm in! The conversion on that is 2.27kg so that is doable!

Okay, just remembering this tonight and thinking of what I haven't done. I've taking the vitamins but that's it.
Tomorrow's a new day!

Yeah, I've done none of this yet unless you count the amount of time I spent on my feet with the baby in the Moby wrap yesterday as substantial exercise, which might be fair.

Um, I ate half a carrot the other day, even though I didn't feel like it. That's pretty much all I've done toward my stated goals, other than continuing to eat in a way that promotes losing my excess weight.
Anyone else? Hope you have something more inspiring to report than I do!

Well, let's see. Went to visit my hometown of NYC, didn't even have any pizza or Carvel ice cream because my nursing baby is sensitive to dairy. Still managed to weigh in at 6.5 pounds heavier today than last Friday!
Vegetables... hehe. I think there were some in the fried rice at the Chinese place on Mother's Day. And all those pickles on and with the burgers at fast food places and diners. Exercise: walking around the Museum of Natural History wearing the baby; walking around the aquarium wearing the baby; dancing in my seat to music playing while we drove?

Um, my May challenge was basically cancelled here due to illness and weather. How about yours?
I am all of three-tenths of a pound lighter than I was May 1. Probably the worst weight loss month since the baby was born late in August.

Well, no actual illness here, but plenty of stress and distraction which did not help me meet my goals.
I did well taking my vitamins, until I realized that I couldn't take them within six hours of my thyroid medication, but still had to take them on an empty stomach. Trying to figure all that out.
I haven't been t-tapping. It just doesn't seem to fit in my day, even 15 minutes. I think my whole schedule (or lack thereof) needs to be revamped because I don't get 15 minutes alone until 10pm. Burn out is looming.
So, how's June looking?

We did take a walk tonight for the first time in a long time despite yucky humidity. About 20 minutes with me wearing the baby in the Moby Wrap.

Just seeing this, but I'm in! Hopefully, you will all continue this for June.
My goals have changed little since posting in last year's August Challenge.
Give up the love of my life -- Pepsi
Walk or ride stationary bike - Daily
Make sure to eat breakfast every day (I usually skip breakfast & lunch for cups of coffee).
205/169/149
20lbs to go!
(Yeah, I could stand to lose more, but I haven't seen 149 in over a decade!!)

30 minutes on the treadmill and stationary bike (total) -- not 30 min on each.
Ate breakfast and lunch, too.
Dh brought a Pepsi home. I drank it.

Michaela, I have a suggestion for breaking the Pepsi habit. They tend to sponsor and give money to very anti-life, anti-Christian, and anti-family organizations.
My husband was a Pepsi addict, but went cold-turkey over a month ago. It has been hard, but he won't support them.
(I am not at all saying that anyone has a responsibility to buoycott, everyone has their own views on that, just that it was a good motivator here.)

Michaela, Coke is a recurring problem for me. Because of concerns about caffeine during pregnancy (there is apparently a link between its consumption and increased risk of miscarriage,) after the days-long migraine that was cold turkey caffeine withdrawal not long before DD was conceived, throughout the pregnancy I had a grand total of two Cokes -- about 8 oz. on my birthday (2 months before she was born) and then another one while waiting for labor to pick up! But more recently, now that she is 9 months old, I have ended up (through my own repeated indulgence) with the old habit again. Well, not as bad as when I was younger and would happily drink 4 or 5 cans a day (and somehow wasn't overweight, or was barely so depending on when it was.)
Even went so far as recently just to buy a 32-pack of 12-oz. cans at Costco instead of wasting money on "just one more" single serving from a drive-thru in order not to "keep it around the house."

I got the weight off, mainly due to illness and having to change my diet radically after my last jaw op. I look forward to losing some more in June...
