Ok...yesterday, we took a delightful nature walk in the rain...it was terrific. We stopped at the cafe a mile away from our home, had hot cocoa. Then we purchased white tissue paper and old bread at the grocery store and fed the ducks (the old bread )on our way home...
We got home. We took out the white tissue paper and painted like Eric Carle on the papers...bright, wet paper...in a crowded home with a tired and overworked mother...
Yellow paint is spilt all over the flow...but this is not bad. It allows me to mop the floor and clean the legs of the kitchen chairs, tables and bench. After painting, I screw the lids back on the GALLON-sized paint bottles and put them back in the garage atop the extra fridge.
Here's the kicker...
This morning, tired and not really wanting to be awake, I muster what little energy I have and open the ever-so-heavy door to the freezer - you know, it's the freezer door to the fridge in the garage that has the paint on top of it...well, I open it in my pre-coffee, overtired mind-fog and well, let's just say, the inside of my freezer is a lovely shade of blue. Now, I like blue...but boo-hoo.
I guess my sanctification is cleaning. Better in a warm home than elsewhere...but ohh man. There goes my plan. I'd like to fly to Japan with a little frying pan...okay, so I'm not the best poet...
Laugh with me...anyway...as I make this promise. I will not look at my house and think I am a failure. I will not look at my house and be overwhelmed at what I have to do. I WILL look at my children and be grateful...
After all, I like the color blue.

That could be me. It has been me. Not in a freezer but in a closet. Red was our color. Very festive.
So have heard the old song "Am I Blue?"
The refrain:
Oh am I blue?
Am I blue?
Ain't these tears in my eyes tellin' you
Well am I blue.
You'd be too.
Sounds like your theme song for today

Been there, done that. It was the washing machine. And it was periwinkle blue...

Thanks for sharing. I woke up to a similar day, with the fridge open all night and everything warm, including four huge pork roasts that I'd cooked, shredded and was going to use for holiday food. Needless to say I cried. I'm thinking most of the food is keepable because the fridge was still running. I hope so. It was my fault, too. The tupperware was too big and I didn't notice it had pushed the door open. Duh

The washing machine!?!? I'd like an explanation of that one! Gee, and I was concerned because I didn't know which cookie recipe I roasted nuts for... I found out and remixed the dough before we'd even formed it (muchless baked it, thank goodness). Well, back to baking. We have a couple of looooong days ahead of us. The kids will give me a Christmas gift if they let me nap on Christmas day!
God bless and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
