Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

How much do you all normally give the priest/deacon for performing baptisms? We're getting all three of our girls baptized on May 10th, and I'm not sure how much would be standard. $20 per child?? I have to get a Mother's Day card for the priest's mother, too.

Make a simple call to your parish office...they can tell you the usual offering, which of course, as an offering, can be adjusted to your ability to give.

I was going to suggest the same thing.

O my goodness! I didn't know about giving a donation! We had our 2 baptised and all I gave the priest was a thank you card and some cookies I baked with our oldest.

When we went to the baptism class, one of the priests was filling in for the deacon who normally handles it. As a last thought the priest remembered that the deacon told him to recommend a donation.

I'll call the parish office, though, and get some more information. I don't know if the donation technically goes to the parish or the priest.
