Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My 12 year old started this curriculum last fall, enthusiastically writing a fantasy novel. He continues to write and I am having trouble figuring out:
1-How to edit and rewrite when he is still plugging along...do I just make him stop, edit where he is and bring some completion to his language arts for the year?

2--HOw much editing/rewriting should we insist on as parents? Obviously grammar and punctuation needs to be correct...but he does not often like my suggestions about story elements that may/may not flow well.

Does anyone who has used this program have some suggestions for this math trained mom??

I've never used this curriculum myself but I think that if your son is enthusiastically writing ---DON'T SQUELCH IT!!! That's wonderful that he is enjoying writing! HOORAY, that battle is won.

I suggest doing all the editing after he's finished creating his masterpiece. That way he won't get bogged down, side-tracked, or lose interest.

I say KEEP THOSE CREATIVE JUICES FLOWING!!!!

Blessings,
Jody
