Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dear Real Learners,

I haven't posted on here much lately because I have been exceptionally busy, but I have posted quite a bit in the past and on the CCM list. I read the messages often and remember your prayer requests.

Please now pray for my family. We were visited today by two police officers and a social worker from the Child Protection Team. An allegation has been made against us, or more specifically against my ds 18. Even though the police, who are supposed to be impartial, admitted that they were 99% certain that the allegation is malicious, they have a statutory duty to investigate any allegations of a Child Protection nature. I had to watch my minor children being interviewed, one close to tears, another shaking with fear. This did such a violence to my mother's soul that I cannot adequately express.

Please storm heaven for my family. Please ask Our Lady to invoke protection for us specifically, as we feel under direct diabolic attack. (The person making the allegations has huge problems, but is certainly being used by the evil one.) Please also pray for this very broken woman making the allegations, and for her family.

Jane from the U.K.

Jane dear, I'm so sorry to hear this . A friend of mine was maliciously accused of ill-treating her young children - at the time a pre-schooler and twin toddlers - and I know just how traumatic false allegations like this are. Fortunately the local health visitor, a very on the ball, old-school professional, backed her 100% and social services didn't pursue the matter. I'll be praying the prayer to St.Michael the Archangel daily for the protection of your family, and that the police will quickly be able to dismiss these allegations.

Jane,

I also don't post much but remember your posts so well, so insightful and full of love...

You have my prayers that you'll all get through this difficult time unscathed. As mentioned already, this is every parent's nightmare.

I'll pray for the poor soul who made this wrongful allegation as well. Hopefully, she'll recant...

Jane,

Lots of prayers headed your way...you are the third person I've known in the last couple of months who's been on this difficult journey. I don't understand how all of this can be happening to loving, caring parents, but I hope our prayers will be a comfort to you.

Don't give up. Ask the Holy Spirit for courage and fortitude...these are gifts we all receive at Confirmation. The Holy Spirit will strengthen your family and console you. Ask the Spirit to give wisdom to the investigating officers, so they will uncover the truth.

Hugs from West Virginia...

Thank-you to all of you for your prayers, and for the private messages too, especially the one who shared her own similar experience. They mean a lot and have already been very efficacious. When I posted yesterday I was in a bit of a state. I still feel very wobbly: I have never in my life been the recipient of pure malice before and I cannot imagine that being physically punched would feel very different.

However yesterday, as the prayers came in, I began to feel, with every half hour that went by, just that bit more peaceful, tangibly so. By the time I went to bed in the small hours of the morning I could sincerely say, "All will be well and all manner of things will be well". If God is with me, it doesn't matter if the whole world is against me. And actually, the whole world isn't against me, as witnessed for example in your kind responses.

From things the police said, and from all the circumstances of this sorry affair, we are very confident that the allegation will be dismissed as unfounded within at most a few days. The longer term worry is how this will affect my son's career choices. He wants to work with children (as this lady making the malicious allegation well knows) and the Child Protection legislation requires even unfounded allegations of this nature to remain on file. It is possible that he will not be able to proceed in his chosen field even if the allegation is found to be malicious. The police could not satisfy us on this point.

We have taken legal advice, and know that there are remedies at law if it comes to that, but obviously we hope for a good outcome that will not necessitate going down that route.

As several of you ladies have said, though, the key is prayer. My children have been undoubtedly hurt by this, but I know they will bounce back if I can be strong and support them. The trouble is that I have been so hurt too, and yesterday felt like a wounded animal unable to help anyone. Today, though, I feel much stronger, thanks to your prayers and to the loving intercession of Our Lady. I don't know what the future holds or how much more we will be called upon to suffer, but I am calm and confident that we will not be given crosses any heavier than we can carry. And given my weakness, I think I can count on a fairly spindly one! (Or so I hope.)

Jane.
