Hi Everyone,

I have a few prayer requests....we went back to our hometown for Easter, and Lily caught something...and is pretty sick now. With all of the traveling, staying in a hotel and not sleeping well, this one hit her pretty hard, 103 fever, and bad stuff out of her trach. I took her in yesterday, and they think she has a bacterial infection in her trach (scary!!), and a virus that brought her immunity down. The doc put her on a strong antibiotic that comes with all sorts of black box warnings....but when she has a 103 fever, and is a special needs kiddo, you have to hit it hard. So...this morning, she is improving, (prayers of thanksgiving!!), but still coughing a lot, looks very puny....and now the rest of the crew is slowly filing in with sore throats....and I have it too....and feel a wretched headache coming on. I haven't slept well in a week, and feel pretty crummy.

Pray that Lily continues to improve without any scary side effects from the antibiotic (like destroying her joints), that we all get over this quickly...and that this illness doesn't delay her scheduled airway surgery May 6th...they are cleaning out her airway again to see if it improves our efforts to cap her trach.

I have been so busy I don't post often, but I check in and pray for all of your intentions at Mass....and am so appreciative that you all are here!

Oh no! Poor, sweet Lily! I'm praying that these antibiotics do the trick emphatically and that Lily recovers quickly so that her little immune system is ready to handle the stress of the surgery in early May!

How is Lily doing today? We have been praying for her and Michael has been saying his Hail Mary's too. (and I told him to offer the bad face bruises he got yesterday and today - for his future lady)..I hope that you are feeling better and that this does not become a fully fledged bug for anyone.

Hi Everyone, thanks so much for your kind words and prayers. Lily is doing okay, I think she needs steroids, but of course as soon as we went back to the doc today, she sounded perfect, and the minute we stepped foot inside the house, she deteriorated again.....of course you don't want them to sound bad, but if they are going to do it, can't they do it in front of the doc??? So..lots of coughing, some blood out of her trach and a few of the boys have a fever....we all feel lousy. It's not the worst, but I am praying for a quick recoup, I worry with this surgery coming up, Lily needs to get over this quickly. She is feeling a bit sassy tonight....she got a box of cereal out of the pantry, dumped it out on the floor...and then as I cleaned this mess and turned my back, she did it with a SECOND box of cereal...good luck, Marilyn, she is going to be a handful of a DIL!!!

I am praying for all of your intentions as well!
