My sweet husband injured his back while working in Salt Lake City last weekend. Then he flew from SLC to LA and then home to DC on the red-eye in order not to miss Katie's first Communion. He's in bad shape, unable to stand or sit or really walk. Your prayers for his comfort and healing are really appreciated. And prayers for me as I learn this "bedrest role reversal" would be appreciated, too. He's much better at this than I am.

Besides arnica several times daily..........I would have him take EPO 1300 mg , two capsules, twice a day, about 12 hours apart.......to see if that would help. It should loosen things up.
(do not take EPO if you are pregnant!)

Praying for him Elizabeth, what a dad to fly home in time for his dd's FHC! My DH suffers back problems and his flared up in Iraq, he was in bed for two weeks. I completely understand your dh's need to heal quickly and to be free from pain!

Praying Elizabeth...have you got any comfrey growing in your yard? We had fantastic and immediate results with my dh when he hurt his back at work. I made a slurry of the leaves on his back, wrapped it in plastic, put a hot water bottle on it and he slept for an hour and a half. He woke up with it completely gone. He had suffered it for two days with it getting worse and he had been thinking of not going to work later that day and visiting a chiropractor, but it didn't need to come to that.

this has happened to dh twice, about 10 years apart. most recent occurence was July 2008, he still can't sit without major discomfort.
All of the suggestions are great, I just want to add that the spinal epidural procedures and conventional P.T. with anti-inflammatories brought the only relief to dh, don't be afraid to try conventional too.
I can't imagine flying like that!
