I'm on injections, which I have been on for other pregnancies. However, I do not know what is different/wrong this time.
I am in ALOT of pain, and experiencing such an aching soreness in the muscle I can barely walk.
Dh started last week giving them in my bottom area, as we have in the past, but it was so awful we thought to switch to top of upper thigh. that was a mistake.
I feel almost shakey and flu- ish, and very unseady on my feet, which also could be a side effect of the meds I'm on, but has anyone experienced pain like this from injections? suggestions, tips?

I was on the injections for my first two pregnancies (suppositories the last three. I don't know which was worse, LOL). I do remember that aching. My injections were only once a week though, so after a day or so it wasn't as bad and I had a few days of feeling OK before the next one.
I don't remember feeling fluish though. Extremely tired and more nauseaus on that day, kind of like pregnancy in overdrive.
I'm sorry I don't have any good advice!

sadly, I can't be on suppositories due to the bleeding disorder I have- I bleed like crazy (think worse than 1st day of period) for months during preg.
the injections are every day, as they have been in the past.
maybe I am just more sensitive/old this time around!!

were you on the same meds last time, Lisa? If the last PIO's didn't bother you, then I can't really imagine why they would again.
I recently had 5 shots in about 7 days, I gave myself 4 of them. The one that really hurt for a long time afterward was the first one I gave myself, I hesitated at the last second and didn't get the needle straight in, but at an angle - it was the one that bruised the most.
I was thinking it might be helpful to get out a permanent marker & let Tim draw the quadrants on your derriere, to make sure each time that you're hitting the upper-outer part of the upper-outer quadrant. Then, just making sure the needle is going straight in, and pushing the oil in very slowly, it's supposed to take up to 90 seconds to do it (well, for the large dose I had anyway). Oh, and ice pack before the shot/ heating pad afterwards.
Hang in there. Wish I could help ya out irl. ;)

OK! I think I SOLVED the problem!!
I did some reading online, and found out that the porjesterone should be WARM, due to the delivery in a thick oil.
Well, we've had snow here and a very wet/cold March. Our heat is set on 62 degrees, and our home is hovering right around that temp.
Wheras, the last few pregnancies were SUMMER 1st trimesters, where our A/C is set at 80 degrees- and it is much warmer in our home.
So I jsut warmed up in my hands for about 5-6 min the vial, and it felt so much better!
I woke up this morning with hardly any soreness.
if today we get the same results I'll know for sure we are on to something! yay!!
thanks everyone!

yeah, you can warm it in your hands or with a heating pad or a cup of warm water... good!
