This afternoon, our daughter, who almost two pulled her very heavy wooden highchair over. The highchair smashed down into her face and the back of her head hit the wooden floor. She was bleeding, had a funny lump on the back of her head, and wouldn't stop crying. Her crying kept escalating, so we called NHS direct, and while dh was on the phone she went limp, non-responsive and could no longer open her eyes. I was so sure we were having a big problem with her as I could feel how limp she was and how odd her breathing was, so I prayed and prayed, and just as we were about to run her out to teh car to get to hospital with her, I threw holy water over and - literally! - the moment it touched her she opened her eyes and started talking, asking for her coat and shoes.
We stopped at the GPs rather than going all the way to hospital and he saw her within minutes, but by that time she was so full of life, running, playing and laughing that apart from the blood round her mouth, the tear stains and the lump, you would have thought she was perfectly well. ACtually, she was perfectly well, and I think it was really a miracle! I wanted to share here, where people will not think I am cracked as the GP and my family (parents) certainly did.
I love Jesus!

WOW, Lucy!
We had a similar experience with Saint Philomena's holy oil after a concussion in one of my five year olds.....and CATHOLIC doctor SORT of believed me when I brought her in, healed only one minute before via the oil.
I am SO relieved for you!

I am so relieved for you all. I know how scared you must have been. My three-year-old tipped over the baby's feeding chair on Mardi Gras, with the baby in it. The chair flipped and her forehead hit the floor. Thankfully, she was all right.
Thank God, your child is fine, too.

Thanks be to God!
We've dealt with some head injuries here recently too, so scary, especially with that poor actress dying last week from a head injury.

So glad to know she's all right. My youngest daughter used to do much the same thing whenever she was VERY upset or traumatized in that way -- she wouldn't be hurt, but she'd be so hysterical that she essentially turned blue and fainted. The first time she did it, she was almost 2, and it was terrifying and earned us a trip to the emergency rom in the ambulance, only to learn many hours and at least one CAT scan later that she had held her breath and turned blue, the way you hear about children doing. Even now, at 5, she'll still do it occasionally, and even though I know what it is, it's still very unnerving.
What the doctor told us was: cold water on the forehead, because it shocks them into taking a breath (they do anyway once they lose consciousness, but you save yourself a couple seconds of sheer terror by using water). I'm sure Holy Water is even better!
Again, I'm glad it all ended happily.
