Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Here's a site with a DVD for teens about Eucharistic Adoration called Children of Hope. Does anyone have experience with this DVD? If so, do you like it? Is it worth having? I'm only 1.5 years away from having a teen (scary ).

Thanks,

Tina,

I have been to Mass with Fr. Antione....lovely priest. He is so holy and devoted to the Eucharist. The only drawback is the several of the priests (including Fr. Antione) have heavy French accents which can make it difficult to understand them at times. There are monthly adorations for children at a neighboring parish. My own parish has had Brother Isiah come two years in a row for a children's Eucharistic Adoration during our 40 Hours of Devotions before Thanksgiving. They are simply beautiful! Each child is blessed with the Blessed Sacrament and led in ways to learn how to pray including adoring Our Lord, interceding for others, petitions and silent meditation.

I can't say enough about how these priests and brothers spread the love of Christ and encourage the children to really worship and adore our Lord.

My Dad always calls Fr. Antione my Mom's best friend b/c she gets so excited when he comes to town. He just loves children and is so gentle and tender with them.

I think it was Alice who recommended this book for encouraging children's Eucharistic adoration Praying in the Presence of Our Lord for Children.

There is a brief section on leading a Holy Hour for children but the entire book is about praying throughout the day. What I like about it is that when you read through the book, you see clearly how constant prayer comes to a culmination in Adoration.

Oooooh, I like the looks of that book. I might buy one for my church. What do you all think of children adoring separately (but with their parents) from the adult holy hours? I don't know whether I should feel put off by what could be viewed as the adult's exclusion of the children (for example, perhaps they're too noisy and interrupt prayer) or thrilled that the children are seen as so important that they get their own time (albeit only once or twice a month) with Jesus. I suppose to be graciously Christian, I should view it in the latter sense.

Our parish has "Armata Bianca" every Friday at 3:45 pm (we only have adoration on Fridays). We follow a book, called Armata Bianca, and we pray the rosary and the Fatima prayers then sing a hymn or two. We are in the chapel for 45 minutes. This follows our parish's homeschool group co-op classes and the chapel is always packed, with many standing. The A.B. program is not on the internet (not the last time I looked) but I can find an address for anyone who is interested.

Babies cry and toddlers have to go potty and preschoolers attempt to knock over the candle holders but still it's good. We also have a travelling statue of Our Lady of the Rosary that stays each week with a different family. We try to get the older kids to lead the rosary each week. It's for ages 0-12 plus parents. The earlier time slot (3-3:45) is for the teens, 13+. That way the teens can care for their baby siblings during Armata Bianca if necessary, out in the hallway and chat with each other.

When it was started, we had families from the Catholic school and our homeschool group but now it's almost entirely our homeschool group b/c the school gets out at 3 and no one waits around for 45 minutes for Armata Bianca to begin.
