Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone (or anyone's teens) read: Do Hard Things: A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations ?

It is written by twin brothers who are also the sons of the guy that wrote I Kissed Dating Goodbye.

The teenage book is supposed to be excellent! Any comments or thoughts?

I didn't finish it, but I liked the first half. I need to find the book and finish it, there are concepts in there I would like my teens to read.

The first half is short on practical application and ideas, I am hoping there is more of that in the second half.

It does have an anti-Catholic reference towards the monastic life in the beginning of the book. (The authors clearly do not understand the value of sacrifice in religious life.)

Sorry I can't help more. I'll see if I can finish it this week.

I read it when my daughter checked it out of the library to read.   I liked it -- an easy read, slightly more "junior" in tone than the Dating book.

My daughter's review is here if you want to read a Catholic girl's perspective on the book.

Joshua Harris cannot possibly be old enough to have sons old enough to write books.

A good friend of mine has read it and thought it was very interesting. She was recently talking about it and mentioned they also have this website - Rebelution - which I had heard of before (frequent winner of the homeschool blog award for teens) but I had never made the coonnection until then.
