Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

And if so, what kind? Why did you choose that one? If you just take a bunch of supplements, which do you use? Does anybody take Omega-3? If so, what brands are good?
For the first time in 12 years, I am not pregnant, nursing or trying to become pregnant and so, am not on pre-natals. I'm just trying to figure out a good supplement plan. Oh, and I am nearing 40 and showing signs of peri-menopause. I hate to just go to a store and randomly choose something based on the pretty label, KWIM? Thanks for any advice.

I have taken multi-vitamins in the past.

I am not right now because I am hearing how regular pill vitamins that we have been taking for years aren't fully digested and are starting to clog up the sewers.

I am on the look out for a good chewable. I have heard of a couple. I will let you know what I decide on.

I take Supermom's from Beeyoutiful.com.

I like them because they are just really good. They have a pretty good "rep" for being more "whole foodie" type of vitamins-meaning, they get their beta carotene, etc, from food sources, not created in a lab sources.

Besides regular multivitamin, I take a B-complex(midwife said it's very good for you, fights off stress and depression, too, which I had last pregnancy at times), and I take a calcium/magnesium/and zinc combo. These I purchase at Walmart, I know they are definately not the best vitamins, but they are better than nothing, and are what we can afford. :)

And for any of you who are expecting I just found out a month or so before having the twins that taking alfalfa tablets is really good for you before and after birth. The Vit. K in it helps reduce the bleeding, and other Vitamins in it help with recovery.(They also carry this at Walmart).
