Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Garrett (my 15 yr old) woke me at 5:20 AM w/ a ringing in his right ear and his jaw hurting. He had been up since 3 AM w/ it.

I immediately asked him if that was the ear he put his Ipod in. He responded, no, both ears.

Anyway, he's sleeping now and I don't want to wake him. I guess I'll have to have it checked today.

Dh mentioned infection.

Does anyone know what would cause this?

I'm thinking more of a sinus infection because he's had a cough and drainage all week and has taken Robitussin for it.

I sure hope it's not TMJ. My best friend lives with that and its a lifetime of suffering. Speaking for myself, I can stand quite a bit of pain except head pain.

It's a little better this morning but he still feels pressure when he drinks or talks. And, with nightfall, it's likely to return.

Ringing in my ears would drive me insane.

I was able to get an appt w/ his dr. for 4:30 this afternoon.

Thank you for the suggestions, ladies. I appreciate having a sounding board to bounce my worries off of.

Severe middle ear infection. Put on 3 meds.

And his younger sisters are coughing more than he is.

My babies never had ear infections so this is something to talk about in our household.

Thank you for the advice and prayers.

Yikes --- very painful! I had a bad ear infection when I was pregnant with dd and I was amazed at how awful it felt. It really helped me to relate to ds when he had his ear infections!

Praying for a return to health for your children, Cay!
