Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Just wanted to add another resource ... back in 2004, PBS did a 4-part miniseries titled Rebels and Redcoats: How Britain Lost America. This series is VERY interesting as it gives the military history of the American Revolution from a British viewpoint. Many of our "sacred cows", particularly George Washington, get short shrift from the narrator. This dvd encouraged lots of discussion on why the Revolution was fought, what if scenarios, was it a "civil war" or a revolution ... and discussion of the narrators parting shot that the initial government after the Revolution was nothing more than a "more efficient" British government with GW elected without asking the populace.

Really an interesting addition to our Revolution unit!

Mary,

Thank you so much for posting this information - it's quite helpful!

Could you tell me where you get/access the videos that you've listed?

Thanks!

Diana,

First, you are most welcome -- I love sharing fun resources!

As far as the videos -- I usually get them from the library -- either direct from our branch/system or from inter-library loan ....

Blessings!
