I am looking for a shoe and/or sandal to wear with skirts this spring and summer.
I want something that both looks nice and is comfortable to walk in all day. I can't seem to find both.
I found a few old threads talking about this, but a lot of the links weren't working
Anyone have any favorites or good suggestions?

I just got these Teva flats and love them!! Luckily, my size was $15 and they are very comfy and cute as well. I also got these Teva Mary Janes last week and am happy with them, but the strap is a little tight (but my foot is perpetually swollen bc of an old ankle injury) I am hoping the strap loosens up, and am thinking it will bc it is leather.
I am very picky about shoes because of my ankle injury and am happy with both of these choices.

that's the style of shoe I look for as well.. the ballet flat sort of style.. I like the slip on ones no straps. And ones I can wear without socks.. cooler for summer and I don't like anything less than kneehighs with skirts
I get ones that have a tennis shoe sorta look to them.. they're casual and easy to slip on.. if I want a "nicer" look then I go with sandles.. earthshoes often have nice sandles.
If you're looking for a higher end shoes.. the Naot brand has some nice looking sandles.. not as clunky looking as some.

wow, everyone!
thanks, so great picks and great prices on Amazon. I've never looked there for shoes.
Melanie, will the Mary Janes be comfortable enough to wear without socks?

I've been scoping out these flats and Mary Janes from Land's End. I think the sandals are cute too. But I'm kind of a Land's End addict, so I may be biased.

What is a good sandal/summer shoe for very narrow feet? I have trouble with Lands End as they are too wide.

I like Chaco sandals a lot better than the Teva sandals. They can be adjusted a lot better, and are more feminine looking. I can wear them all day around the house or even hiking and my feet don't get tired. I've got them on right now, in fact. They are expensive, but they last forever, and you can throw them in the wash when they are dirty. Chaco
ETA: I have narrow feet and high arches and the Chacos are perfect.

Ladies, I love a good shoe thread!
My daughter wears Chacos and loves them. They are quite expensive, but they are perfect for a narrow foot. My dd has an extremely narrow foot and requires very good arch support - that's hard to find in a sandal so we were pleased at how well made the Chacos were. Really, really cute sandals.
I'm a sucker for Land's End! And those Mary Janes might make it into my cart!
I am in love with my Dansko Mary Janes and I love how they look with a skirt. They are great for all day comfort!

Sierra Trading Post offers a good selection at discount prices. J. Jill, Garnet Hill, and Hanna Anderson also have nice shoes but they are more expensive. For narrow feet I have been successful with the European brands Ecco and Ricosta.

Birks and Tevas are too flat and hurt my back, but I love my Keens and I have been checking out the shoes at LLBean.

I do ... I have two pair -- sandals and clogs that I wear all the time and have since we bought them in Austria over 6 years ago! These things last forever!

i too have come to prefer chacos to teva, but what my feet really love, though i dont think they are that pretty are crocs. they do have a lot of cuter styles now.
i got some really cute and comfortable keen mary jane style, but i wouldnt order these as the first pair i tried on didnt work with my regular size so i had to get a half size larger.

I second the Dansko recommendation. If you go to their website you can look at all the styles and then search for a good price on the style you like. I have about 5 pairs (sandals for summer, clogs for winter) and they have held up very well.
Keen also makes some cute ballet flats that are very comfortable and look good with skirts. REI Outlet (online) often has good deals on all the brands discussed in this thread.

I had some that lasted for 7 yrs, before they were finally worn out (from wearing them year round in CA where the weather was hot). This time around, I went the cheaper sandal route, and for the last three years, I have had to buy a new pair every summer. I'm going back to birks this spring. They come in prettier colors now, too!
