Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Wasn't sure if this was the right place to post this, but I just learned from a friend that the movie "The Human Experience" will be screened at PVI this Saturday night 2/28. Many good things have been said about the film and I thought some might be interested in attending.

Here's a link to the film's site:
http://www.grassrootsfilms.com/thehumanexperience/
If you click on the screening tab you can see where it's being shown and it has contact info for Fr. Jaffe to get more details.

It's also being advertised in the Herald this week.

This is definitely worth viewing if you can! We saw it in August in Arlington (somewhere?) and thoroughly enjoyed it. We all went and the only one who got antsy was JP who is only 6 ... the others really liked it. The funny thing was that because I had to take JP out, I got to meet one of the main guys in the movie! How cool was that ... JP couldn't believe it.

Go if you can as it really is worth seeing! For those not near PVI, I'm pretty sure it's coming to JPtheGreat this Spring ....

Thanks for the input. I was just talking about this with oldest dd today and encouraging her to go on Saturday. I didn't have much info on the movie, but trusted my sources that it was a good one.

Well, I was wrong, they actually showed it today to end the first week of Lent!

And the teens were awe-struck. A cool thing is that the main actor and the producer were there to talk about the movie, answer any questions from the students, etc.

Irene, definitely encourage your daughter to see it ... she'll be impressed.

Thank you both Melissa for posting this, and Mary for your movie review! I ended up going to the movie with both my 12 and 14 year old dds and a group from our parish. The movie was fantastic! I heartily recommend seeing it in the future if any of you get the chance. We enjoyed the Q&A session with the actors afterward too. What impressive young men!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I didn't go, but a friend did and went out to dinner beforehand with Fr. Jaffe and the guys from the film and said it was such a great experience.

I am so glad that so many people got to see this! My daughter is actually good friends with Chris, one of the young men in the movie. I'll have to have her pass on the favorable reviews to him.
God Bless!
