Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Have you ever heard of Keyboard Conversations with Jeffrey Siegel? I've seen him perform several times at a local university, and thoroughly enjoyed the experiences.

Mr. Siegel picks a topic (like "The Power and Passion of Beethoven") and plays several pieces in their entirety. The twist is that before each piece he offers commentary on the composer, musical elements, etc. He'll play bits and melodies to expand on what he's talking about.

I recently stumbled across a 4 cd set (1 hr each) of his work at the library! Yesterday I listened with some of my children--excellent! The four topics include Beethoven, The Romance of the Piano (Chopin, Grieg, Liszt), The Romanticismm of the Russian Soul (Rachmaninoff, Medtner, Scriabin), and Mozart and Friends (Mozart, Bach, Clementi, Salieri, Haydn).

Just now I found his website which has samples and info about downloads, concerts, etc. I'm a library gal, myself. You might want to check your local one.

Age appropriateness? His commentary is geared to adults or teens, but my young children still gained from listening (Beethoven). They recognized bits of music, understood some of the other commentary, and enjoyed the pieces themselves. I think that this set can enrich your music time.
