How long do you consider the famous 'babymoon' period?

Till they have their first little temper tantrum. (Though I actually think those are charmingly cute.)
Maybe till they start wanting to be mobile and independent. Until then all they want is mom.

Okay, so maybe then what I mean to ask is what exactly do you consider a 'babymoon'. My husband, who learned the term babymoon from you ladies here, informed me that since he was going back to work on Monday that our babymoon was over - that's why I ask. (at first he thought of baby moon as something totally different and wondered why I was encouraged to enjoy the little ones backside so much! )

Well, I guess it's sort of like your honeymoon...there's the actual vacation, which is over Monday...then there's that first wondrous year where everything is new and exciting and you're totally in love, and then there's the extended honeymoon, life forever with a person you love...the first phase is over, but don't worry, you've got a lot of babymoon left!

Oh. Well that stinks. If that's what it is I only get about 24 hours after coming home from the hospital.

Let's see...
~as long as your sleep mingles with hers
~as long as you inhale her with every deep breath
~as long as you feel oddly empty if she's not in your arms
~as long as you don't know where you end and she begins
~as long as it brings tears to your eyes every time she smiles at you
~as long as that little bundle is most content at your breast
~as long as you are overwhelmingly happy to scoop her up, no matter how little you've slept
~as long as you whisper a prayer of thanks every time you think of her
a long, long time

I feel just like Elizabeth.........with my last, because I was worried he would be my last......I PURPOSEFULLY took an extended babymoon........I think it lasted about 4 years. Easy to do with an easy-going kid!

I catch a glimps of a "babymoon" every now and again.
As I am reading this my oldest dd 12yo is curled up sleeping against me dreaming sweetly.
I am hearing our birds chirping good morning in the yard.
The house is silent.
Motherhood is just wonderful.
Blessings
