Please pray for the repose of the soul of a 16 yo homeschooling girl who died in a car wreck here recently. It wasn't anyone we really know (her father has been in some business dinner meetings with my dh but I'm not sure it's anyone he has ever really spoken to directly). It has touched our hearts. Please also pray for the family as the girl was trapped in a vehicle that was on fire and they could not get her out in time. She evidently called her dad on her cell phone and he was evidently at the scene. I think that just makes us cry inside thinking about how helpless we'd feel in that situation and the horrow of basically watching your own child burn to death and not be able to prevent it or get her out.

Also (on a much more minor note) if you think of it, if you don't mind saying an Ave for our daughter. She is at a sort of crossroads with a lot riding on how things turn out in March - and a lot of decisions to make now about where to apply to grad school, where to visit with limited funds, etc. The support and guidance she is getting so far is minimal so she is trying to forge a lot on her own in a field where connections are 90% or more it seems and where mom and dad are no help since we know nothing of the field.

She is thankful for a lesson in March and for the person who made the initial connection for her. She still has to do a good job with little help in the areas where she needs most work. She wants this so badly that she is really patching together a lot of supplemental things - most of which are costing her a bundle. If she does a good job and impresses this person with her potential, maybe she'll have an opening or chance for a competitive grad school.

Also, in March, she should hear about whether or not she was accepted to the music camp that is her #1 choice - but very, very competitive. Audition tapes went in a long, time ago and I'm not sure how things will work if she gets in but no money. If she can get in and somehow get there, I know she will impress the folks with where she'll go with that kind of environment - and maybe there will be a few more opportunities for grad school open up.

In any case, God's will be done. (This momma would love to see her get a break and a chance to show folks).
