I had a great idea this morning of creating a Hall (well stairwell) of Presidents. Does anyone know where I can find pictures, probably 8x10, to hang on the wall going down to our schoolroom. I was thinking I could google them, but I know I would have such a hard time deciding which image to use. I also thought about having my children draw them, but I actually want to have a Stairwell of Presidents.

Any ideas of websites I should check out?

Hmm... I have 3.5 x 5.5 flashcards of the the White House Presidential portraits that I got in Target's dollar section. Not quite, huh?

There used to be a part of the White House for kids site that had presidential portraits. Tonight I will look through my unit studies and see if I can find the link.

This is from the library of congress website. It has images of presidents and first ladies in a time line (you have to click on the links).

They have all sorts of information here about the collection including copyrights here.

And you can also call them to order them.

I have a book, "The Presidents of the United States of America" by Frank Freidel, One picture for each president, pages ares about 10 X 6 1/2, the pictures great. I saw a used book for $6.98 at Amazon, but you might need two because some of the pictures on on both sides of the page.

Thank you sooo much for the link to that PDF file of the coloring pages of the Presidents. My 5 yo ds is totally obsessed with the Presidents right now, and I was unable to find those pictures on the White House site even though they would come up when I Googled them. How great to have them all in one place. I made sure to save that bad boy to my computer!
